Luana Rozalini is an award-winning cinematographer, director, and producer whose dual Brazilian and Italian heritage informs a deeply cinematic, cross-cultural approach to non-fiction storytelling. Fascinated by narrative lighting, visual formalism, and human-centric stories, her work spans striking independent documentaries, narrative fiction, and high-end broadcast television across the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, Ireland, and Brazil.
Her visual acuity was recognized early when her film A Home Past the Meadow won Best Graduate Short Film at the London International Short Film Festival. Since then, her non-fiction portfolio has grown to include her directorial debut with the upcoming feature documentary The Woman Who Built a Country, which she is also producing. Her additional credits include lensing the tense narrative Vulture and managing the technical direction and visual aesthetics for major broadcast television series in Brazil, including Mais que um Look.
Luana holds a BA (Hons) in Film Production with First-Class Honors from Solent University (UK). Her technical mastery behind the camera is underpinned by advanced cinematography training with the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) and an intensive Lighting Masterclass in London under Oscar-winning Director of Photography James Friend, ASC BSC.
Shaped by thirteen years of living and operating globally, Luana brings a nuanced international perspective and rigorous production standards to the documentary space. Seamlessly bridging the technical and creative, she frequently operates as a self-shooting director and producer, adeptly handling everything from advanced colorimetry (HDR) and narrative lighting design to international audiovisual legislation, distribution strategy, and project development for cultural grants. Fully bilingual in English and Portuguese, she leverages her European and South American roots to capture complex, globally minded realities through a highly refined aesthetic lens.
