The Woman Who Built a Country follows Brazilian writer Vanessa Godoy, creator of Bàdiu, a fictional country and large-scale immersive universe developed over more than a decade through books, live experiences, and the founding of EMB (Bàdiu School of Magic) and the Flamel Institute.

Set between fantasy and reality, the documentary examines authorship, belonging, decolonial imagination, and the personal cost of defending an original creative universe against institutional pressure, legal disputes, and corporate power.

Filmed inside historic Brazilian castles and immersive events involving hundreds of participants, the project explores how collective imagination can become both refuge and political act.
