Directed by Renato Volcov, Vulture is a psychological horror film centred on Bridget, an enigmatic stranger whose hypnotic presence draws victims into increasingly dangerous encounters. Set within a historical town and unfolding almost entirely at night, the film explores obsession, manipulation, seduction, and violence through a restrained monochromatic visual language.
The cinematography was heavily informed by German Expressionism, particularly its use of contrast, negative space, and psychologically charged compositions. Rather than approaching the film naturalistically, the visual language aimed to externalise emotional tension through controlled lighting, shadow, and spatial distortion.
The film focused on sculpting faces and environments through hard light and deep contrast, allowing darkness to become an active element within the frame rather than simply an absence of light. The visual approach sought to create an atmosphere that felt intimate, predatory, and unstable reinforcing Bridget’s psychological control over the characters around her.
Bridget, a mysterious and murderous loner uses her hypnotic voice to lure victims into her deadly embrace. As one survivor dares to challenge her enchanting facade, a dangerous game of seduction and survival unfolds in the shadows.
